Hi,
The problem is that this error message is returned for any problem which
includes when the server is not running. The current message isn't very helpful
in the case where the server isn't actually running.
Can you please create a trac ticket for this defect so that it can be looked at?

Have you checked to make sure that the MapGuide service is running? I
encountered this problem frequently under Windows 2000 - the service
wouldn't get started automatically on reboot.

This is a known issue and has been at least partially corrected in a
newer version of fusion which is not yet available. I am not aware of
a work around with the current code except to fix the data not to have
NULLs (not an acceptable solution, obviously).

I realize the latest version King FDO provider for SQL only says it is
compatible with 1.2 on their site.
I was able to load layers fine, but was unable to select. Has anyone
used King.MsSqlSpatial provider with 2.0?
