The unit tests are not a reliable indicator of the MapGuide server status
because the MapGuide server has not "stopped". It is just hanging and thinks
it is running, so reports on any test that "The repository is already opened
by another process".
So there is no simple way to test that the MapG
What version of MGOS are you using?
The latest MGOS and MGE2009 Studio still allow alias folders for SDF.

I've been working with MGOS 2 on CentOS 5 for the last month or so, and
while not in production yet, have experienced many crashes of the server
component. However, updating to 2.0.1 last week seems to have significantly
improved the stability. It looks like it's only been released to the

When you setup a data connection for SHP there are options to choose aliased
folder why is this not an option for SDF anymore? I know this is more of a
Studio question but I am just making sure this is not some limitation.

I've installed on VMWare with Fedora 4, CentOS 5 and XP without any problems
related to the fact that it's a virtual machine. MapGuide doesn't know or
care that it's a VM.. When you say that it doesn't work, can you be more
specific?

I'm experiencing exactly the same behaviour with both MGOS and MGE running on
both 1.2.0 and 2.0.0 versions.
Testing server:
- Quad-core, 4 GB RAM
- Windows Server 2003 R2
- IIS 6 + ASP.NET (.NET 2.0)
This is the _major_ obstacle for MGE/MGOS deloyment throughout multiuser
environment.

Thanks for the answer, i think we will do the something similar …
Do you have a way to avoid loss of sessions when restarting mgserver ?

Hi Traian.
I am primarily using the OGR provider with MI-TAB data. I have also seen
