I shall give that a try and let you know the outcome. Just so happens I'm on
holidays as of 2mins ago and won't be back for a week or so. But i'll post
more when I return.
thanks for all the posts and help with this, hopefully I can get an answer
from Autodesk by the time I return on how to fix
Amen, brother on the DWG extension. After 3-4 years still falling on deaf
ears at Autodesk.
When you used the DETE plot config, can you try the paper size at 100 inches
x 100 inches with plot to fit? Not sure if it matters but 707 x 1000mm
would be abiyt 28 x 40 inches or about 1/4 if the size
Ok, I just tried a new configuration using the other plotter driver suggested
above.
Now the configuration is:

Paper size : ISO full bleed (707x1000mm)
Shaded viewport: 4800dpi
DWF Virtual Pens Lineweight set to '0'.
Within the Driver 'Custom Properties' settings:

I'm using the DWF6 ePlot.pc3 driver, I'm also changing the 'Custom

4800dpi for both as well that the Raster Resolution. From there I edited
the DWF Virtual Pens plot style table to use a Lineweight of 0. All of

What plotter configuration are you using to create the DWF? I use the "DWF6

On the original dwg file, what font is used for text? One of the
original ???.shx fonts that were optimized for ancient pen plotters or a
???.ttf modern font that has some fill and girth to it?
Any chance for samples of the original dwg and dwf or at least screen
shots of each?

The text is actually text in autocad. There are also other layers to that
use text (dims for example) that also look extremely poor. The font is
embedded in the Autocad file, and is running locally on the XP machine I
would assume. I didn't think dwf's would require that text file since all

Is the text an actual text layer? Does it use a font and does that font exist
on the MGE Server or is everything running locally on XP for example?

Hi,
I'm attempting to convert some dwg's to dwf's in order to display 'dumb'
graphics in MGE. I've tried all the settings I could find in the plot dwf
configuration to make the objects (text, blocks, dims, leaders, arrows, etc)
look exacly how they do in the dwg and so far I have failed miserabl
It is true that not all tables have a primary key. This is however, that
MapGuide interpreted views as tables and I do not know how to hide them.
Does anyone have an idea?

I found this too when not all of my tables had primary keys (and
spatial indices) defined. The save still completed though. I also ran
into problems with the extents not being read correctly and had to
manually enter the map extents, but can't remember the cause of that
one.
