I have built some of the FDO 3.3 providers from the 3.3 branch using VS2008 and
managed to pop them into the MG 2.0.2 FDO folder with success (after I had
installed the newest runtime) so you can half-way house it but, as you say, not
cross 3.4 with 3.3.

I remember reading somewhere it only runs with 3.3.1 ... should there be any

2. FDO 3.4.0 is built with Visual C++ 2008
3. FDO 3.4.0 has newer APIs
Even if you have the required runtime libraries installed, I doubt a 2005-built
MapGuide can use 2008-built FDO binaries.
