thanks for useful explaination and tool.
In my case, for all my maps, I get meter pr unit = 1.
Unfortunatelly my problem still remain the huge amount of blank tiles that I
get for each map (I have many from different regions) I test :-(

I was not the original author of MgCooker, so I cannot explain why the
official method is not (you know) the default method.
Anyway, the meters-per-unit value is important because it factors into scale
calculations and rendering. A bad or incorrect meters-per-unit value will

Yes, of course. I've used MgCooker 5.0b1 vs both AIMS 2012 64bits (Windows
Server 2008) and MGOS 2.4 32bits (Windows 7).
AIMS 2012 Studio does a bit better. It creates only 80% of useless tiles.
I've written to Autodesk supportt for that
