Hallo,
is there in the mean time soume kind of solution / workaround for these problems ? I continue to have server crashes whith raster files and I too suggest that this is really a threading problem in MG / GDAL Provider; And because those with instability problems all seem to have IIS / .NET are there any suggestions to modify IIS parameters and / or the serverconfig.ini ? Kind regards, Hans Have you tried to add the provider(s) as having a connectionpoolsize of one? (in serverconfig.ini) It is bound to give really bad performance, but it may give stability. If it gets stable with only one connection, the issue is likely a threadding problem in MG or the provider. I'm running IIS / PHP and using MySQL for the backend (using odbc connections instead of mysql connections) Andy Morsell wrote: I have similar crashing problems with 2.0.1 and also suspect raster issues, although there are no clues in the error or event logs about this. The reason I suspect raster issues is that when things start to go wonky, maps with no raster work for a little while maps with raster fail to render. Eventually, mgserver faults and locks up. The one common denominator for those with instability issues seems to be running MGOS with IIS / .NET. Is that the case for all with these problems? Andy Morsell, P.E. I didn't make many changes to it, other than changing the repository paths. I honestly am not 100% sure of what effects most of the settings have on the system. Here's a list of the currently available urls in case someone might can see something I've done in the maps that could cause some of my problems: http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=forrest> &county=forrest http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=lafayette> &county=lafayette http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=lee> &county=lee http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=lowndes> &county=lowndes http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=oktibbeha> &county=oktibbeha http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=sunflower> &county=sunflower http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=tunica> &county=tunica http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms <http://www.tscmaps.com/mapguide/mapviewer/?state=ms&county=winston> &county=winston They all use the same layer styles...I just copy the layers to a new county folder, change where the file points to and add it to a new county map. Each county has a set of ECW raster files. zspitzer wrote: can you describe the specs of the two machines ? had you tweaked the serverconfig.ini for the size of the machine? It's odd that some of these errors only started happening on this new box which has a lot more horsepower than the previous one. i'm going to keep mgos installed and try to do some testing to try to figure out what exactly is causing things to die on me.
