Sounds like they are referring to a Geoset. Geosets are used by MapX in much the same way workspaces are used by MapInfo Professional. In Pro's Tool Manager, you can load the MapInfo MapX Geoset Utility. This lets you create a geoset file based on the layers and settings of a MapInfo map window. Note that a .gst geoset file is similar to a .wor workspace file. It is a text file containing file names, paths, settings, etc., but it does not contain the actual .tab files which the geoset file opens.
