Many thanks to everyone for the advice. The consensus seems to be that it is a clash between the snap function and the grabber tool. Turning snap off before attempting to use the grabber should cure the problem. Bill Wemple from MapInfo also suggested reducing the acceleration of the video card d

Dear listers, We are using MapInfo 6.0 and since version 5.5. we have noticed that occasionally the grabber tool stops working when trying to move maps in the map window (this never seems to occur in the layout window). It occurs when using both vector and raster maps. I have looked in the message

About a year ago I complained of a similar problem, to the list, which still persists. Platforms include W95 & NT 4 SP3 & now 4 on a variety of Digital PC's with different Video cards MI runtimes & Pro. V4.5 Problem: when the grabber is used the entire system locks up and has to be rebooted.
