Greetings Listers,
I'm trying to extract table name/alias/visibility info from a WOR file but
without actually opening it. ie. parsing text strings within the actual WOR
file.
I'm just about to embark on writing (reluctantly) a Delphi DLL procedure to
parse text in the WOR file to obtain the
Hi David and others,
Well this is a common mistake in th euse of variable references to tables
and columns.
If you want to use variables to read values from a defined column in a
table allways use the special variable Alias, as shown below:

hopefully you have found a solution by now, but I just wanted to voice

Andrew,
You can use Triangulator for this purpose. Use it to create Voronoy polygons
arround the shop locations.
The shop that is within the same polygon as the customer is the closest for
that particular customer.
you can download a free trial version of triangulator form

Hi Paul,
You might have luck with the following code in the MapBasic window before
using the info tool:
set window info position (1,1)

One approach you may want to investigate is the use of Scalable Vector
Graphics (SVG).
This technology expressed in XML (text-based) has zoom-pan capability as
well as many possibilities to make interactive, rich cartographic documents.
Currently, Adobe just completed Version 2.00 of their SVG
Thanks to those people who responded to my list posting regarding

Gareth,
Thanks for such a clear summary. If every body was doing half as good as
you, the list will become even better for all.

Hello all!
I need some DEM's of the US fast. Would anyone care to suggest a web site
for quick downloads. The USGS takes to long on a turnaround.
Thanks!

Hi all
We have fifty tables and they are in different projection systems , and i
want to separate them into
different tables according to their projection systems.
I am appreciating your reply

This avoids the Discard prompt at the point when the cosmetic
layer is cleared but when a user then comes to close the mapper
window they are again prompted to save or discard.
I hope people agree

Before bite off more than I can chew trying to right a MB utility for this,
I thought I better pose the question to the list.
Is there some feature built into Mapinfo or is there a know MB utility that
would perform a coordinate, go to function.
That is to say, one could enter the lat long

Hi, this is a hot topic !
a wavelength actually is a length (as you could derive from the name).
Ok, they're real short distances, so small that even a centimeter (cm) is an
almost galactic distance in comparison, that's why it's measured in um wich
stands for micrometers.
This measures the

You have an option in MI called Change View.
There you can enter the coordinates you want and the map will be center in
these.

Hello Briant,
There are several ways to get USGS DEMs. Free DEMs in the SDTS version are
available at:
http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/doc/edchome/ndcdb/ndcdb.html
You can download them as fast as your connection will allow.
Information on SDTS is at:

Clifford,
Many thanks for that pointer to your paper (

Checking the registered TIFF's with known vector data shows that everything

Hi MapInfo-L community,
This is more a discussion point than anything else.
I see a lot of discussion on the list about publishing maps to the web. One
possibility which has arisen is using SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) and
