The easiest (and correct?) way to determine whether a certain application is installed
is to query the registry.
E.g. "if professional installed" would be something like
If RegistryKeyExist("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\")

SELECT * form MY_TABLE WHERE Benzene >= 0.02 INTO High_Benzine (or what ever
table name you want)

Maybe you should take a look at http://www.w3schools.com/sql/. It is not
MapInfo specific, but it should help you with SQL grammar a little bit. Hope
