Hi Gilbert, The easiest way is to either look in the MENU.DEF that can be found in the folder where you installed MapBasic. You'll see that the 'Select by Square' has number 1722 - or you could use the constant M_TOOLS_SEARCH_RECT, but then you have to remember to include the menu.def in you

Anyone know if there is a way to not allow a user to close a map window ? In my opinion, I don't think it's possible... GÉOdiffusion 2004, du 1 au 3 décembre http://www.geodiffusion.com Congrès annuel sur les solutions en géomatique d'affaires http://www.geodiffusion.com

Take a look at the Set Window statement, SysMenuClose OFF will disable the close window option in the top right corner of the map window. You could toggle this on or off dependent upon who's logged in I suppose. Dave -Original Message- From: Gilbert, Antoine [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Cinda, Unfortunately, our company has been back and forth with my MI distributed and MI Canada, and there is no way to go about fixing this limitation unless you have Windows 98 and installed the win98 printer driver for your plotter. We have setup our hard drive with double OS boot

Hi Cinda, I have not tried those formats in MI, but would probably say from experience in other software apps that there will be node reductions in your vector information making it pixelly?? looking. Same will happen with Text too. LGS -Original Message- From: Cinda Graubard

MI-L Point-2-Region distance

2004-08-13 Thread Uffe Kousgaard
I want to find the distance from a point to a region (likely with holes). Is it correct, that mapbasic doesn't have an function for that? And it is not the distance to the centroid that I'm looking for :-) Regards Uffe

Hi Uffe, Well, you into deep water here, but I'm sure you are aware of this fact ;-) A easy way of delaign wit this problem would this: 1. Create a line from the point o the centroid() of the polygon 2. Erase the part of the line that is inside the polygon 3. Calculate the lenght of the polgon
