Hi Herbert Need to send the workspace (and associated files) as the thematic map is stored on this file.  You can use http://www.directionsmag.com/files/index.php/view/558 to package the workspace. I have not used this but it sounds like it would do the job. Then you can zip it up and

[MI-L] Reverse Geocoding

2006-06-08 Thread Kent Hargesheimer
List- Does anyone know of an add-on application (or any other method) to be able to use MapMarker PLUS (or any other geocoder) for reverse geocoding. By reverse geocoding, I mean getting back street addresses for given lat/long coordinates. Any insights would be appreciated.

Hello Jae, Actually, I'm not sure you should rely on this query in MapBasic! The IntersectNodes() function changed after v4.5 of Pro (when they tinkered with the map object processing). It used to give you a nice polyline representing the topological relationship between two objects and taking

[MI-L] DBMS Mapped Table - Dissapearing columns

2006-06-08 Thread Michele Tuomi
Hello everyone; I have an access database. There's a table in this database that I wanted to be brought into MapInfo (7.5). I've done this via the dbms connection, and created a linked table. I also wanted to make this table mappable, and have gone through the steps to do this. This table

If you are really curious about Web mapping you should attend the next week Where 2.0 in San Jose. I attended last year and the energy exploding out of GMU (geo mash up) versus legacy GIS for the masses was astounding. Poor Jack was simply out of place. This year it looks like it again will be a

Hi List, Does anyone know how MapInfo works out which road names to draw so as they don't overlap each other when drawn? This is really neat and I was wondering how it's done. Apologies - this more a general GIS graphics display question than mapinfo specific. Kind regards all Tim Come on

RE: [MI-L] How mapinfo loads map data

Thanks everyone for your help on this subject. I found a method of OGR (which mitab uses) called SetSpatialFilterRect(...), as Uffe mentioned. This filters using MapInfo's .map spatial index. http://ogr.maptools.org/ -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The X and Y columns are still there; MapInfo has simply hidden them since it's using them for the coordinates of your points. MapInfo did this by design; it can be annoying but you have to live with it. If you want to get X and Y coordinates out of the mappable table you can still use the
