MI-L MapInfo map transfer to a Trimble GeoXT

Does anyone on the list have any knowledge of how to transfer a map generated with MapInfo V6.5, to be used as a background map in the Trimble GeoXT ? What are the steps needed to accomplish this.? Thanks, John Scott, District Geologist Ministry of Northern Development and Mines 435 S. James

MI-L MapInfo compatability with Win 2000/ Windows XPpro

I have just had a major setback with my computer and want to either upgrade the current unit or purchase a newer computer. My current o/s is Windows 98. Are there any conflicts with MapInfo and Windows 2000 or Windows XPpro? I am using a Toshiba Laptop Tecra 8100. Any advice on other Laptops

MI-L NAD27 to NAD83 conversions

are coming out as NAD83 and these have to be joined or compiled with the older maps, which are NAD27. What is the best way to manage this confusion in MapInfo/Discover so that I'll be able to live a little longer with less mental pain? John Scott Thunder Bay,
