Does anyone on the list have any knowledge of how to transfer a map
generated with MapInfo V6.5, to be used as a background map in the
Trimble GeoXT ?
What are the steps needed to accomplish this.?

I have just had a major setback with my computer and want to either
upgrade the current unit or purchase a newer computer. My current o/s
is Windows 98. Are there any conflicts with MapInfo and Windows 2000 or
Windows XPpro? I am using a Toshiba Laptop Tecra 8100.
Any advice on other Laptops
Does anyone have a good source for elevation data for Route 66 from
Chicago to Los Angeles? The data is required to develop a solar powered
vehicle that would undertake the journey in the near future.
Any help would be appreciated.

coming out as NAD83 and these have to be joined or compiled with the
older maps, which are NAD27.
What is the best way to manage this confusion in MapInfo/Discover so
that I'll be able to live a little longer with less mental pain?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I tried them all and none seemed to work.
I then decided to do a careful re-install and that seemed to have fixed the
problem, whatever it was.

There must be a straight forward process to plot data points and
geochemistry results from a Lotus table into an already open base map.
I have tried to follow the reference guides but become lost.
Can anyone point me into the right direction? Much obliged.
