Jeff,
The key is the order that you list the tables in the table box of the SQL
select. The first table will hold a bunch of selected records. In your case
make sure you list the points table first, then the data table. The
selected records are the same records that show in the query, but you'l

Dear Readers,
We are currently experiencing a major issue with a MapInfo RunTime/MapBasic

that one of you might have an idea of what is wrong. We are running the

Dear Readers,
I am creating an HTML Image Map from a map of many regions. Nine of the

Hi,
I have a client who when he changes his labels after clipping a region

down/freeze with Clip Region or is there something he is doing wrong that is
crashing the system?
He is running 6.5 on Win 2000 Professional. I've for
If you have the map layer open, you can use the find command under the Query
Menu. You'll need to tell it which layer to look in, but that's about as
hard as it gets.

Oliver,
You can also search for one letter wild cards using the like operator of the
SQL selection. Use an underscore (_) where you'd want the letter to sit.
For instance if you wanted any letter to be in one part of a string you
could put the underscore there.

I am assuming you are using two tables to do this and measuring the distance
between points with a common attribute in columns in both tables. In order
for this to work, you'll need to have created a map with the data. Give you
describe your files as points, I believe you've already done that.
Mike and Vinny,
Sometimes you can get lucky though and change the workspace version number
at the top of the file to 6 instead of 6.5. It depends on how many 6.5
tools you used in the workspace when it was updated, but I've tricked a few
into thinking workspaces were in 5.5 instead of 6.0. I wou

Dear Readers,
We have just recently and with the help of this list made big strides in the
digitization of our client's paper maps. Having done so we now have rather
messy grids of polylines. We need to now convert the blank areas between

One simplistic option would be to open the tab files in a text editor and
look at the table structures there. They'll be in the first section of the
document. It covers the info you're looking for.
