I have a number of users who are experiencing the above problem when
printing. Any text that is not at 0 degrees prints as a black block.
This is happening on Windows 2000 pcs running any version of Mapinfo. I
have tried un-installing and reinstalling but the problem remains.

Since upgrading to version 6.5 we seem to have lost all the 'Mapinfo'
Symbols (Mapinfo Cartography, Oil and Gas etc.)
Two questions:-
1) Am I right in thinking the Mapinfo symbols are contained within the

Are you installing Mapinfo with a long filename by any chance? I hit a
very similar problem and resolved it by installing Mapinfo to a directory
called 'Mapinfo' rather than 'Mapinfo Professional'. Only the top level
Directory needs to be 8 characters or less.

Anyone else come across this particular problem:-
I have user running Windows NT on a Dell PIII / 500 with 128meg ram. He
has 3 drives, 2 running SCSI / NTFS, the third EIDE / NTFS. When he goes
into Options / Preferences / Directories he can only select directories on
the C drive,
When I double click on a frame in a layout window, Mapinfo tells me the
