I currently have a excel sheet containing some crime data without any X Y
coordinates. What I want to be able to do is create a MapInfo table with the
data in and the just highlight the data row and create a point on the map for
the data. Is this possible to do (as when you just input

Open your Excel table in MapInfo and save a copy with a different filename (or
in a different folder). Close the original table and open the copy. This will
be editable.
Make your data table mappable (Table>Maintenance>Table structure) and set the
projection to match the map.
