Hi there,

My region is burning, more than 20.000 hectares of national parks - one =
of them Conguillio Biosfere Reserve, are been lost under the fire. Now =
and fort the next day it will be raining a bit, so situation should calm =
down. I been ask to help, and for that I need your help on three =
aspects.

1.- How can I use aerial photograph stored for arcview in *.lan format =
in Mapinfo?=20

2.- Is there a way to detect hot spots in the terrain under fire? I =
mean, would it be possible to photograph at night or use infrared sat =
images to catch them? Any knowledge for that proceduce applied before. =
The idea is to monitor if possible twice a day the sectors to re direct =
the brigades (terrain and air help).

3.- Based on above answers, any links to get that images?

And of course, any one of you that have previous experience with big =
fires on rough terrain feel free to send suggestions ...

TIA
