With the help of Jacques ("I obviously don't have a real job, I just answer
questions") Paris and Jason Adam, the answer is found.
I was using only "Alt + 233". Using "Alt + 0233" is the way.

I have some data with text attributes in French and in the default(?) Arial
of the MI browser the letters with accents etc are replaced with what
appear to be ascii characters. I would like to see them correctly in
French. Any suggestions?
