I have just uploaded a tool to generate random points within polygons. Find
it at www.routeware.dk/download/randompoints.zip
If you have mapbasic, you can easily adjust it for your own needs. If you
don't, you will have to make your data match my sample data with regards to
table name, column
Ross and Jessie,
Not sure if this will do exactly what you're talking about but I had to take
a pond outline, convert it to points and give those points a value of zero
to be the top of the water. I used a tool from the archives:

Giday MapInfo users,
I want to know if there is a tool to convert a polygon into X (eg. 20)
random points withjn the polygon?
I can create a dot density thematic layer to do this, however, I can not
save this as
a MapInfo table.
Thanks from Sydney,
Ross Johnson

Hi Ross
My process could be a little longer process, but it works perfectly. This is what you
should do:
Save copy of the table you want to convert to points as a separate table (just in case
you will need those polygons again). Open the new table you have just saved, make sure
the table is
