Just wanted also to let you know that there is tool called labeler, it
is already loaded with the tools in MapInfo Professional, you can use it
to save all the modification you did to your labels either from

Hi Frank,
When you change the default of Autolabel, the labels became as it is
custom label, so you can't remove it by uncheck the Autolabel function
in layer control, it is no more Automatic label. You have to select it
and press delete or choose Clear Custom Label from map menu.

Hello Frank,
I know that the same thing happens when you use 'clear cosmetic objects'
command. The untouched autolabels are removed but not the labels that have been
manually repositioned.
