Sometimes mapInfo will automatically trigger index rebuilding in Access tables. It is really a workaround to stop the bug where it used to GPF when you tried to edit more than one table in an access database that had indices in it. Now, if you have another table in the same database, edit one,

I have had similar problems, though not identical. Using an Access data base to convert fixed width ASCII files to MDB tables so MI could read them. What happened was an update operation would shift the data for each record after a cretin point in the update process. What I had to do was delete t
