Does anyone have experience parsing FGDC Metadata files? We would like to develop a searchable database of our Data library. In an effort to avoid endless hours of data entry we would like break up the standard metadata files and get them into our SQL server. We don't need to transfer the metadata files directly into our database, just some sort of delimited text file would be great. We sat down to begin developing the script and realized that the complexity of the FGDC files made the task complicated. We are not interested in all of the information that the FGDC files contain, we want to "thin" the files as well. If anyone has experience doing this, or knows of a an existing script to do this your thoughts would be really helpful.
