Following on from my previous post, the error message that MapInfo could not close a temp table is due to a bug.
If you open a shapefile directly using MI Pro v7 and then make a selection from it, you get this message when attempting to close the temp table. Note that this will cause unexpected failure in mbx apps dealing with selections from shapefiles. I've passed this info on to tech support.
