Dave I have also had a look, and my sales reap has emailed me the product info.
It doesn't appear to include any mapping software. All mapping and capture software is listed as 'Optional Software'. I doubt that the optional software would accept MapInfo tables. So you will have to persevere with MapX Mobile. You can now get 1GB CF cards, currently I use a 256MB with ESRI ArcPad and that works fine.
