This topic touches on a question I have. Not being a database expert, maybe
it's a simple question and I don't know it , but how do you use MapInfo or a GIS
with a relational database in which the information is located in many tables
that are linked? Can relational databases that are created in Access for example
be used in MapInfo so that when you click on an object in MapInfo all the
information from various linked tables for that record will be shown either in
MapInfo window or in an Access form? How does one go about using relational
databases in MapInfo without having to extract and import separate flat tables
and produce duplicate databases? I have only had to work with flat tables in
MapInfo but I'm sure one day the need to link a relational database to MapInfo
or a GIS will come up. Anyone have experience doing this? Is it feasible?

TIA

Dan

Okay, the answer straight from MapInfo Tech Support is "It's supposed to
work that way".

How disappointing.

MI's suggestion was to save a copy of the query result, which does seem to
correct the problem. They claim that MI doesn't really support one-to-many
joins, and that this lack of support shows up when trying to use the info
tool in a map window with a temporary query table spawned from a one-to-many
join.

Cheers,

I get exactly the same problem with my SQL query generate table using MI
v6.0.
I hope somebody knows the answer to this one.
