You can already create any tool in wmf labs, and use it as an iframe into any wiki project. This is exactly what the existing tools do (at this point, most of them don't use the new maps service, but they hopefully will very soon).

Federico, my appologies from not seeing it earlier. GeoHack (which is what uses maps from ruwiki), pulls templates and javascript from ruwiki, and uses it to show the map. So for example, when you click on the geo coordinates in the upper right corner of this article:
