Awesome Jeff: thanks much for this very useful and timely documentation.

The XSD file corresponding to http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/mapserver is
generated on the fly
by MapServer itself. From your example:
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/mapserver;
xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml; xmlns:wfs="http://www.opengis.net/wfs;
xmlns:ogc="http://www.opengis.net/ogc;

James: can you open an issue on GitHub? I'll take a look.

We're using mappyfile in our projects and I must say it is a fantastic tool
for mapfile composition workflows. Great job!
Thanks for the release (and thanks to Hobu who introduced me to Seth, who
introduced me to mappyfile at the code sprint in Bonn earlier this year).

Hi Andrea: correct. You can find examples in Python, Perl, PHP, etc.
depending on your environment/requirements.
Cheers

Hi Andrea:
You could serve your WMS via MapScript which could intercept the
request and adjust the mapfile object in memory before executing the response.
We've done this with Python MapScript in implementing the WMS Best Practice
for Time/Elevation, but there's no reason why the same approach

Hi all: our (OWS) application (via Python MapScript/mod_wsgi) is provided
as both HTTP and HTTPS, and our mapfile's map.web.metadata.ows_onlineresource
is set to 'http://example.org/ows', for example.
We would like to update map.web.metadata.ows_onlineresource at request
time (by checking
What happens when you do _not_ set ows_onlineresource? I think MapServer
will automagically determine the URL?

Correct, wms:OnlineResource is allowed once and only once [1].

Hi all: using 7.0.2 against a PostgreSQL 9.3/PostGIS 2.2 instance we're getting
very long (timeouts even) response times when doing WFS filters against
PostgreSQL date types.
I've posted a Gist at [1] to help in reporting. Note that this functionality

Hi all: using 7.0.2 against a PostgreSQL 9.3/PostGIS 2.2 instance we're getting
query errors.
I've posted a Gist at [1] to help in reporting. Note that this functionality
used to work in 6.4.x.
From the migration guides it doesn't look like much has changed w.r.t. PostGIS

Hi all: we are looking into updating our Python MapScript (CGI-based) wrappers
to leverage WSGI, and are having integration issues as part of testing.
We are using 6.4.2 on Ubuntu 14.04. See example in [1] (against
any mapfile is fine). Simple run with python ./mapscript-wsgi.py which makes

Hi all: using 6.4.1 we are attempting to display (via WMS) GRIB2 data as a
contour layer backed by a tileindex setup. Invoking a basic WMS 1.3.0 GetMap
request returns the following ServiceExceptionReport:
msDrawMap(): Image handling error. Failed to draw layer named 'RDPS.ETA_PN'.
