Dear MARMAM subscribers,
I am looking for any Sowerby's beaked whale photographs to include in
a photo-id study of Sowerby's beaked whales on the Scotian Shelf
conducted by the Whitehead Lab, Dalhousie University. Photographs from
different years and locations would add greatly to the temporal and
spatial scope of the study, and any additional photogaphs of this
species would be helpful as sightings are generally rare. Photo-id
work is mostly focused on dorsal fins, however photos of melons or
flanks may also be useful as many individuals are well-marked.
If anyone has Sowerby's beaked whale photographs available to include
