On April 6, 2015, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) announced a 90-day finding on a petition to list the Gulf of Mexico Bryde’s whale (*Balaenoptera edeni*) as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act. We determined that the petition presented substantial scientific or commercial information indicating that the petitioned action may be warranted. Accordingly, we are conducting a review of the status of this species to determine if the petitioned action is warranted. To ensure that the status review is comprehensive, we opened a 60-day public comment period on April 6, 2015, to solicit information pertaining to this species. The public comment period is coming to a close soon. Any information or comments on the subject action must be received by June 5, 2015.
