The Sea Watch Foundation (SWF) is looking for an Education and Outreach Assistant to assist with environmental outreach activities at Sea Watch’s base in New Quay, West Wales. The Education and Outreach Assistant will gain experience in the following areas:
Running a Visitor centre and public awareness activities
Liaising with the local community and boat operators
Promoting and planning events
Working with and organising school visits
Managing social media
Creating educational resources
Supervising interns
Land and boat based cetacean surveys

The field season will run from April to October 2023. Our Education and Outreach Assistant is required to stay for at least half of the season (choosing Period 1-2 or 3-4) but can also choose to stay the whole 2023 season. The assistant will be based in New Quay, West Wales. Accommodation will be provided in a house shared with the Research Interns at a subsidised rate.
Period 1 & 2: 27th March-23rd July
Period 3 & 4: 24th July-29th October (must be available for online training for NWDW from 17th July)
Ideally our Education and Outreach Assistant will:
Have a strong interest in marine conservation
Be outgoing and confident dealing with the public
Have excellent verbal and written skills
Have previous social media experience
Be willing and able to work independently and organise a varied work load
