Barney Rosset was an amazing human being, a supporter of left causes all his life, from the 40s student movement on. He published collections of writings by Luxemburg, James Connelly, and the Paris Communards; Fanon's Wretched of the Earth and Black Skin, White Masks; Carl Oglesby's New Left Reader, and many other valuable political tomes. Among his editorial hires was Harry Braverman. The Washpost obit does not mention his close friendship, in fact partnership, with Samuel Beckett. He was a close lifelong friend of Haskell Wexler, the legendary cinematographer-filmmaker.
