I wouldn't go there, Louis. Very different historical context: world-wide Popular Front against fascism. Ho Chi Minh was looking for some help in Vietnam's struggle for national independence from the Japanese occupiers and to keep the French from returning to "their" colony (as they tried to do). Where's the analogy? These present-day Libya rebels are not trying to leverage one outside power against another to secure their national independence. And they are certainly a long distance from having Ho's and the Viet Minh's program of creating a new, more equitable socialist society. As far as I can tell, their economic objectives are pretty much in line with those of the "international community" -- i.e., global capitalism.
