What this fellow says makes sense: the whole assassination plot reads
like an extremely unconvincing thriller manuscript that would be
rejected at first glance by even the most desperate publisher or telly
programmer. Even Goebbels would have balked at broadcasting such a
ridiculous plot.

The real question for me is why the US government is taking it
seriously and presenting it as a matter of supreme national and
international importance, one which has very serious implications for
the Middle East. Is it a diversion, an attempt to draw people's
attention away from local economic difficulties and the burgeoning
protest movement, or is the US government really trying to arrange a
provocation with the object of launching an attack upon Iran?
