The concept of a centre is of course is Geo-historically defined. What was
the Centre in the 1960s would seem to many to be the left now. Since 1973
the Centre has been defined within the parameters of neoliberalism. That
paradigm is now in decline and moving inexorably towards residual status.
Therefore we are without a stable definition of a Centre and moderates
everywhere are wandering around bereft. No part of me feel any sympathy for
those opportunists.

Those politicians, like Clinton, who occupied the neoliberal Centre, have
been exposed.

In cricket there is an expression when a batsman does not go forward or
back enough and gets out. It is called being trapped on the crease.
Similarly the moderates have been caught or trapped in the Centre. They
did not spot the coming of the 'rough beast'.

The smarter among the politicians are now looking for a way out of the
Centre or to be more exact waiting for when the new Centre will be
defined. As we are in between paradigms a massive struggle will take place
before anything like a new Centre comes into being and holds.

I think that it is strange now how in the UK, this is actually Corbyn's
time. He has never been a figure of the Centre and that has been the basis
for the mantra that he is unelectable. Because traditional fast thinking
dictated that elections are won from the Centre. Trump has exposed that
piece of fast thinking.
Corbyn is about to become electable IMHO

comradely
