A while back I posted about some newly-uploaded articles at MIA written by
women for Labor Action about food price hikes and the need for organized
working-class resistance to profiteers.
An obit in yesterday's Times is about a figure on the other side of that
battleline, a writer who, on behalf of the British government, taught women
how to make do with less under wartime rationing:
