Not sure how I post to this. Hope this works:

Shane,

Why do you bother writing this stuff, when you clearly don't know the first
thing about it? You say you're "on the other side of the world" but "on another
planet" seems closer to the truth. Richard Seymour comprehensively rebutted
your nonsensical claims that Lindsey German has been talked of as a
"pro-capitalist renegade" and that she was "forced to resign". Unable to
sustain those, silence would seem sensible. But instead, shifting the goalposts
completely, you go off on one about the way in which "groups" treat their
"members." Why not save that stuff for your therapist? What strange creatures
one finds under the stones, on blogs like this...

When I last looked revolutionary sects didn't share their internal
documents but even if they did - anyone with experience knows how
organisations have all sorts of informal mechanisms to isolate dissent
- and I am on the other side of the world so all I can cite is my 10 or
so years with the DSP and the far left. I know that moving on from that
only proves I am an apostate but the patterns are the same. Here the
DSP split and expelled several of its founders and leading members (of
course its disputed about whether they were expelled or took at
"voluntary" redundancy) I don't imagine its much different there.

Richard - I wish I had kept all my old DSP documents.because it sounds
like you are quoting them When the DSP took over SA - they offered
other sects much more than proportional representation etc etc but of
course the DSP was larger force on the ground so it was easy to out
organise them. Of course great show was made of how democratic it all
was - which it was on paper - even when they were left with a shell.
Then they split over whether to continue with the regroupment
(ironically). The minority in the OZ case was the old leadership who
wanted to move back to traditional Leninist party building - which I
gather is not the case in the UK. My general point is the pathetic way
these groups treat people - its no wonder its so hard to convince
people when they can see what treatment gets meted out to insiders who
stray from the one true path. Anyrate enough said.
