There was some progress made on this a while back, starting with PyCluster'ed data, for plotting the results of clustering analysis: http://www.mail-archive.com/matplotlib-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00964.html Alternatively, if you're after real dendrograms (i.e. for dendrites), which follow slightly different rules, then I have some code based on PyX (http://pyx.sourceforge.net/) which you may be able to adapt to your needs.
