What do you mean other cases work? Are you using version 4.1? by "runse"
you mean "run_se"?
Do you get answer by runse('case14') without definging the measurement
parameters?

I guess the thermal limit constraint is satisfied in your case (236.55 MW).
Firstly, you have to read the power flow through the line, not the injected
power in one bus.
Secondly, as I remember, the column rateA in the branch matrix for each
case is the thermal limit of that line.
In your case, the

Please, let me know of your opinion on this.

ve by solving it manually is:
x0=[0;0;0;0;1;.83;.66;.5;.5;0];
However, matpower doesn't converge to it even when I give it as the initial
value (x0).
Please, help me figure out the problem with my work.

It makes perfect sense! Thank you very much indeed.

one please comment on this?
I should add that the system is feasible and the solution is:
x=[
0
0
0
0
1
1
0.9
0.5
0.5
0.5
0

Dear matpower community
Does anybody know what is he base of voltage in IEEE 14 bus test system. I
understand that it's not required to know the value of it in order to use
the benchmark, but I wonder what is a reasonable assumption for the base of
voltage.
