Following on from this thread, I believe the underlying problem
described may have been the same issue (an incompatibility with the new
boost libraries used by Mauve) that was causing crashes on other
platforms, and that was discussed in a separate thread. I have now been
able to post snaps
I too have received numerous "-1073741819" errors in Mauve 2.4. I just
hadn't gotten around to reporting it yet.
However, running the same analyses in Mauve 2.3.1 didn't give me the same
error. So even though it doesn't fix the problem in 2.4, that might be one
way to bypass the issue.

Thanks for the reply Aaron...I actually have admin privileges and checked
my permissions and have read/writenonetheless I tried an alignment and
pointed the saved output to the desktop (test).it looked like it went
farther but only an empty 'test' file ended up on the desktop:
