tried that, even raised the shared memory. Is the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL
discussed in the docs?

This is usually the case, if your glibc has NPTL enabled. Use the common
LD_ASSUME_KERNEL workaround or if you're using gentoo: recompile glibc
without USE="nptl".
