Indeed, the problem is absent while using the version from the snapshot
binary mc-2006022316-1.i386.rpm found at
/pub/Linux/utils/file/managers/mc/snapshots.

Hi,
Here is a small package that provides a representation of the WindowsCE
filesystem of a Pocket PC connected to Linux by use of the SynCE package
(http://syncesourceforge.net/synce/) as a MC virtual filesystem.
