У меня Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. Я набрал в терминале в Gnome sudo apt-get
install mc и установил mc сегодня (23 декабря 2009 года). Затем я запустил mc в
терминале в Gnome и увидел внизу в командной строке:

The MC's internal viewer enters probably infinite cycle while paging
binary files or files containing some 8-bit characters. It opens the Seach
dialog with the characters 1;2c or something like that. Then you press
Escape, the dialog disappears and reappears in a moment with the same
mc cvs version.
in xterm (kde xvt xterm) mcedit does _not_ select text with shift + arrow key.
in console it works great...

in console it works great...
The reason is that Linux console support is always enabled if you complie
mc on Linux. On the other hand, support for X11 events has to be enabled

I would like to report a bug in MC 4.5.51: accessing a local NTFS
partition, the last subdirectory and the last file (in alphabetical
order) of each directory are missing, no matter which sort order is
selected.
