We are looking for a *Sr Technician, Operations Support, for our Direct client at Kansas City, MO* *Title: Sr Technician, Operations Support* *Duration: 1 Year* *Location: Kansas City, MO* *Job Description:* Provide technical support for Client s operations environment. Analyze information to determine Client performance and areas of improvement. Test and verify the Client infrastructure to ensure it meets specifications and requirements. Demonstrates ability to function in 2 of the 5 expertise areas in the Operations Command Center (OCC) (Unix, Mainframe, Production Control, Debit, Network) and is proficient in 2 of the 5 OCC expertise areas. Is a subject matter expert in 1 of the 5 expertise areas of the OCC. *Major Accountabilities: * Monitor and take corrective action for problems while minimizing customer impact Create and/or update internal tickets to document monitoring and recovery steps Perform routine maintenance procedures as required by policy or procedure Maintain metrics as defined by management *Education (preferred): *Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience *Knowledge/Experience (preferred): * · Candidate will require basic knowledge of routing/switching, tunneling, security operations/engineering, MPLS. · Basic UNIX scripting and tool monitoring, JCL, MVS, batch scheduling, knowledge of tandem technology · Firewall experience and file transfer highly desired. · 1 year or relevant experience required. *Working Conditions: * · Some on-call responsibility and occasional off hours work required. · 12 Hour Shift work. Will work one weekend day per work week. *Remarks:* *This is for second shift. We work Wed, Thurs, Fri and every other Sat from 6pm to 6am*. Please note that this position is in Kansas City.
