A typical systems administrator is responsible for monitoring the network to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance and issue resolution. This position is for a *WAN Network Connectivity Service Level II support role.* This role will provide on and off-shift second-level support of incidents and problem management related to Network issues. This individual will be responsible for resolving production breaks as well as support of Network optimization hardware (Riverbed), circuit connections and disconnections, Cisco router configurations and backup solutions for sites. Required Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time as well as well as being a collaborative team member. Strong ability to identify, interpret and evaluate system and network requirements. Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue. Fully knowledgeable of computer hardware and software and its related infrastructure components and/or operating environment identified in the assignment requirements. *Additionally, networking technical knowledge, an understanding of WAN Networks, risk domains, tiered domains, TCP/IP fundamentals *(VLSM/CIDR), Ethernet, QoS, IP sub netting, cabling (copper & fiber), OSPF, BGP, VLAN trunking, VLANs (defining, numbering, fundamental transport (Gig, T1, T3, OC3, etc.)) and basic switching configuration are required skill sets. Minimum of ASSOCIATES DEGREE Minimum 2 year of relevant industry experience in WAN network implementations is required for this role. Minimum 2 year of experience in *providing network services *to medium or large companies is required for this role. Desired Skills: Experience working with/for network or telecommunications vendors is a plus. Candidate should possess diplomacy skills because they will interact with local, regional and enterprise vendors. Degree in IT or PREFERED CISCO CERTIFICATIONS.
