I realize that there have been previous threads on the use of Portfolio
in museums, but I would like to know if there have been small to medium
museums (10 or fewer permanent full-time staff) that have used a version
of Portfolio or another example of DAMS software. We are currently using

We've been working with Portfolio with a large UK institution for the
last 6 months and a number of strengths and weaknesses have emerged.
The benefits are it's very easy to set-up and very easy to use, with
a well-grooved UI and intuitive ease of use. It's also pretty cheap.

Our IT staff is concerned about the bandwidth effect caused by
delivering multimedia content, particularly video, on the museum's
website. Would folks from museums who have gone thru this care to

bandwidth versions, and higher quality versions (over my protests about
costs/bandwidth). Our hosting is not yet in-house, though, so to store
