Last year's meeting in Pasadena was very productive. *Maureen Burns* offered to host the CAL SIG local meeting and was the driving force behind organizing a wonderful and thought-provoking day on the theme of the connections between art and science. Anyone who attended will never forget exploring DinoQuest, listening to Walt Scacchi's presentation, or getting to know the ALAVs. *Marla Misunas, MCN President and CAL SIG Founder,* picked up and ran with one of the ideas from our brainstorming session for conference presentations.
