1- Mostly all microphone could be ok for your md recorder... It depends of your needs... If it's only for conferences, interview or general talking, even a pc microphone without batteries in it could be fine... There is a lot of battery-microphone (like tie-pin microphone) or dual microphone

The only problem that I have ever had with the standard Md slip cases is that sometimes what ever it is inside of the case that "grabs" the MD and keeps it from falling out breaks. Then if you hold the case with the open side down the MD falls out. I have never had that happen (yet!). Can
