I have the JVC-MX3000 in a Honda Accord and the Pioneer MEH-P9000R (with
organic EL display) in a Honda Civic. Ironically, you reach a point where
you love the "flashing lights and gimmics" on the JVC unit. By the way,
it's not cheesy--it's just different. Very flashy unit, really looks good
once you get it into the dashboard. My Pioneer unit is driving me crazy,
though, because the track titles do not scroll automatically until you
press a button. Sheer madness for those of us who are obsessed with titling
tracks! You feel like you just wasted your time doing all of that tedious
titling because the Pioneer makes you push a button to see it! That's why I
prefer the JVC--it's really cool. ON the other hand, if you like
ENTERTAINMENT (a button on the Pioneer), then you can see all kinds of
flashy displays (besides track titles) like Cityscapes and Space landscapes
and graphic equalizer movements. This is all accomplished with the
so-called ORGANIC display. Pioneer claims that their unit can still be seen
in bright sunlight--this is pure marketing hype (bullshit). It is still
just like all other car head-units. Displays get washed-out in bright
light. That's why I like driving at night!
Good luck choosing your unit.
