THIS MODEL :SONY DE561 CD PLAYER WITH OPTICAL OUTPUT have a great rechargeable battery... I have try to use it with my portable SHarp recorder without problem... I have copy some CD (3 CD) in my car only with the batteries... No skip, no problem... It was fine !!! Pierre Forest, Kheops
