Yah yah, I bet you're all sick of hearing about this. Now you can actually hear it for yourself, if you so desire. I snuck a recording of it earlier tonight and it actually showed up on the recording I made! That at least tells me it isn't *that* high pitched after all and that I (luckily?)

Well, I saw a directional "Shotgun" mike at Best Buy for under $20 if I remember correctly. You could use that and track it down. If you don't have a shotgun mike, maybe you can put your existing mike inside a bottle or card board tube, cover the bottom ( where the mike is) with foam, to
